how leap dance is different

At LEAP we believe it should go without saying that when looking for a dance studio that we should offer qualified, caring teachers and a variety of dance styles for all ages.

Of course we do those things! But what we do differently is focus on community.

Too many of us grew up wanting to dance but were discouraged because the dance classes we went to, students were not kind or welcoming, or worse; the teachers weren’t, running their classes with an iron fist or a focus on favourites.

We don’t believe dance should be limited by age, experience, or how many classes a student has taken before. Whether a student is stepping into a studio for the very first time or continuing their dance journey, what matters most to us is their passion and willingness to learn.

Our role is to nurture that passion and help turn it into confidence, skill, and a love for performing. We do this by creating a supportive environment where students feel encouraged to grow, challenge themselves, and celebrate each other’s progress.

Community is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we ask all students and parents to sign our anti-bullying policy, and we take it seriously. More importantly, the families who join LEAP share the same values we do — creating a positive space where dancers can focus on their craft, support one another, and build genuine friendships along the way.

Big Ideas, Real Impact.

Starting somewhere new can feel daunting, which is why we often pair new students with a class buddy to help break the ice and make them feel welcome from the very beginning. We even try to do this for our adult students too, because everyone deserves to feel comfortable and supported in the studio.

As our dancers grow and progress, we also create meaningful opportunities for them beyond the classroom. One example is our Assistant Dance Teacher qualification training, giving students the chance to gain recognised skills and experience. This ensures their time, dedication, and commitment to the studio are valued and lead to real outcomes.

These are just a few of the ways we strive to create a supportive, respectful, and inspiring environment — and why we believe LEAP could be the perfect place for you or your tiny dancer.
